New Years Eve

The Lonely Planets says that BA is a great place to be for NYE, the reality is that the whole city pretty much shuts down and hardly anything is open! We struggled to find a bar that was hosting a NYE party, even the Irish bars were shut! Luckily we found a little bar run by Americas than was perfect stumbling distance from the apt.

Mum and John arrived back from Uraguy about 7pm so we pulled together a dinner spread at the apartment: a lot of meat, a lot of wine. The streets were dead as we walked to the bar, such a change to London on NYE, but the party in the bar was getting going when we arrived just before the count down to midnight.
