The fact the capital is called Windy Wellington should have given us a clue, but we really weren't prepared for the extent of the 'breeze' in the city! It was bloody windy and cold!
We spent a couple of days exploring the city, which is lovely, but we both were quite happy to escape the wind and start our south island adventure.
Pretty church
Rose gardens
Important building (can't remember exactly what though, whoops!) and some very large and and strange shaped things made from stone
The Beehive, the Executive Wing of the New Zealand Parliament buildings - phew, glad I remembered that one!
